At The Cake Temple I fully understand that your privacy is important and must always be protected. I realise that the Privacy Policy is not in any way exciting in relation to planning your wedding cake but you may well want to be informed and reassured in what kind of personal data may be collected about you during our interactions. This document will explain how I store and handle your data and keep it safe.

What kind of personal data is collected?
I only ever collect the data I need in order to consult with you about your cake design, organise for payment and delivery of your cake. For instance:
• Name
• Partner’s name

• Email address
• Phone number
* Event details including the date and location
* Any allergy information

When do I collect your personal data, and why do I need it?
I collect personal data from a number of sources including:
• the website contact form,
• wedding exhibitions, and events,
• referrals from existing clients, other organisations and wedding planners

 

Your personal data is used to ensure the services I deliver are suitable and appropriate and any data collected is only used to administer and deliver those services.
• To respond to your queries.
• To propose, quote, design, deliver, invoice and get feedback on my wedding cake services
• To process any orders that you make by using my website.
• To comply with my contractual or legal obligations to share data with law enforcement.
• To comply with tax, legal or regulatory issues

 

How is your personal data protected?

All data obtained from you is stored within my laptop computer which is password protected and passwords are regularly updated.

How long will I keep your personal data?
Whenever I collect or process your personal data, I’ll only keep it for as long as I genuinely need it, or as long as is required for regulatory legislation reasons. At the end of that period, your data will either be deleted completely or made anonymous.

Who do I share your personal data with?
I may share your data in the following circumstances:

• to service providers and affiliates (e.g postal services, IT service administrators) who assist in the delivery of my products and services
• to third parties if I believe that disclosure is advisable or necessary to comply with the law, to enforce or apply my terms and conditions, or to protect the rights, property or safety of myself and others.

I will never sell or rent your information to third parties.


Use of ‘cookies’
My website, like many other websites out there in the big wide internet, uses cookies. These are small pieces of information sent to your computer and stored on your hard drive to allow our website to recognise you when you visit. Such information will never identify you personally and will not be visible to me; it is purely statistical data, which does not identify any personal details whatsoever. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. Please be aware that this may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

On occasion I may include links to third parties on The Cake Temple’s website. Where I provide a link it does not mean that I endorse or approve that site’s notice towards visitor privacy. Please be mindful of this, and make sure you review the site in question’s own privacy policy before inputting any personal data.

My website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows me to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.  

I reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If I make material changes to this policy, I will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
